Software, cloud and IT projects for UK organisations

For UK businesses, India is only four and a half hours ahead in summer and five and a half in winter, so a UK morning sits comfortably inside our working day. TrueOrbis delivers software, cloud, DevOps and automation work remotely from Delhi, through calls, shared documents and remote sessions. We work inside your data protection obligations rather than around them.

What we deliver to clients in the United Kingdom

GMT, BST and the two clock changes a year

UK clocks go forward one hour at 1am on the last Sunday in March and back at 2am on the last Sunday in October. In summer the country runs on British Summer Time, an hour ahead of GMT; for the rest of the year it is on GMT. India does not change its clocks.

In practice that gives a long shared window. During BST our office hours of 10:00–19:00 IST run from 05:30 to 14:30 UK time; during GMT they run from 04:30 to 13:30. A 09:00 stand-up in London is 13:30 or 14:30 in Delhi, well within our day.

Requests sent late in the UK afternoon reach us after we close and are picked up when we open the next working day, which is still before breakfast in Britain.

UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the regulator

Personal data in the UK is governed by the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025. On 30 September 2026 the Information Commission took over from the Information Commissioner’s Office as the regulator; it still uses the ICO name and website, and its guidance is being updated for the 2025 changes.

When a UK organisation uses a supplier in India, questions about controller and processor roles, international transfers and security measures are for you and your advisers. We do not give legal advice. What we do is work within the requirements you set and the contract you put in place: access to personal data only where a task needs it, anonymised or test data in development, and a record of who can reach what.

How a remote UK project is run

  1. An introductory video call in the UK morning to understand the problem, the systems involved and your constraints
  2. A written proposal covering scope, milestones, timeline, contract terms, currency and payment
  3. Milestones with a demo and a short written note at each, scheduled inside the shared window
  4. Handover of code, documents and admin rights, then removal of our accounts

Keeping accounts and access with your organisation

Every account we use should belong to you. Domains, cloud subscriptions, repositories and email administration sit in your organisation’s name; we are invited as named users with the narrowest role that does the job, with multi-factor authentication enforced by your own policies. When the engagement ends, you remove us and rotate any shared secrets, and working copies on our side are returned or deleted as the contract sets out.

Work that suits the UK–India rhythm

Because the overlap covers most of a UK morning, projects that need frequent short conversations work well: iterative website and portal builds, moving a small office’s files and email to the cloud, tidying an inherited server estate, or automating month-end reporting. Anything that needs someone physically in a UK office is outside what we offer.

Time zones and meeting windows

India Standard Time is UTC+5:30 all year; India does not change its clocks.

Common questions

Will our personal data be stored in India?

Not unless you decide it should be. Data normally stays in your own systems and cloud accounts, in the hosting region you choose, and we reach it remotely under your controls. Where any transfer is involved, the arrangements are for you and your advisers to set in the contract.

Do meeting times move when the UK clocks change?

Yes, by an hour in Indian time. A 10:00 UK call is 14:30 in Delhi during BST and 15:30 during GMT, still within our office hours either way.

Can you work alongside our existing hosting company or agency?

Yes. We agree a clear split of responsibilities with you, write it into the proposal, and coordinate with the other supplier by email or shared tickets.

Can someone come to our office in the UK?

No. UK work is fully remote. Where hardware needs hands on it, a local technician does the physical part while we configure and test over a remote session.
