Help applying for GST registration on the official GST portal — eligibility, the right documents for your premises and business type, and tracking until your GSTIN is issued.
Most GST registration delays come from small mismatches: a business name that does not match PAN, the wrong proof for a rented office, or an address that is too vague. TrueOrbis prepares the application on the official GST portal with you, checks every document against the prescribed list for your type of premises and business, and follows up on any query until the registration certificate is issued.

Common questions
Who must register for GST?
In most States, including Delhi, registration is required once aggregate turnover crosses ₹40 lakh for businesses supplying only goods, or ₹20 lakh for service providers. Lower limits apply in certain special-category States. Some businesses must register regardless of turnover — for example inter-State suppliers of goods and casual taxable persons.
Do online sellers need GST registration?
Usually, yes. Since 1 October 2023 small sellers of goods can sell through e-commerce platforms without GST registration if they stay within the turnover limit, sell only within one State, make no inter-State supplies and obtain an enrolment number on the GST portal. Each marketplace also sets its own requirements.
How long does GST registration take?
With successful Aadhaar authentication, the officer is to process the application within 7 working days; where physical verification is needed it can take up to 30 days. Low-risk applicants and those opting for the simplified Rule 14A route can be registered within 3 working days.
Is there a government fee?
No fee is charged on the GST portal for a new registration. Assistance fees, if you use a service provider, are separate.
What is the simplified registration under Rule 14A?
An optional route for applicants whose tax on supplies to registered businesses will not exceed ₹2.5 lakh a month. Aadhaar authentication is mandatory and registration is granted electronically within 3 working days.
What changed on 1 November 2026?
A revised application form came into effect (including a separate One Person Company option and bank details within 30 days of the certificate), most amendments are accepted automatically, and a new Rule 14B lets eligible e-commerce sellers register in another State using a marketplace warehouse address.
