A working day that starts in your afternoon
Sydney and Melbourne are 4 h 30 min ahead of India on Australian Eastern Standard Time and 5 h 30 min ahead during daylight saving. Daylight saving in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT runs from the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April. Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory do not observe it, so Brisbane stays on AEST all year.
That puts the shared window in your afternoon: roughly 14:30 to 17:30 in Sydney outside daylight saving, and 15:30 to 17:30 during it. Our afternoon then runs into your evening, which is handy for scheduled changes when your systems are quiet.
Perth is the easy one
Western Australia keeps Australian Western Standard Time all year, two and a half hours ahead of India. When we open at 10:00 IST it is 12:30 in Perth, which leaves the whole Perth afternoon for calls, screen-shares and working sessions, with no seasonal shift to track.
The Privacy Act 1988 and the APPs
Australia’s Privacy Act 1988 contains the 13 Australian Privacy Principles, which govern how covered organisations collect, use, disclose and secure personal information. The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) is the regulator.
Whether and how the Act applies to your business, and what it means for using an overseas supplier, are questions for you and your advisers. Our part is to work within your requirements and your own contracts: data stays in your systems, our access is limited to the task in hand, and development uses test data wherever practical.
How we run a project from Delhi
Access throughout is least-privilege: named accounts rather than shared passwords, and cloud resources in accounts your business owns and pays for.
- A discovery call in your afternoon to understand goals, systems and constraints
- A written proposal: scope, milestones, schedule, contract terms, currency and payment
- Milestones delivered with a short written report and a demo inside the shared window
- Handover of code, documents and logins in your company’s name, after which you revoke our access
Where remote delivery fits for Australian teams
Projects with clear milestones suit this arrangement: a new booking or quoting system, moving a small office off an ageing server, setting up CI/CD for a two- or three-person development team, or automating weekly reporting. Work that needs someone on site in Australia is not something we take on.
Time zones and meeting windows
India Standard Time is UTC+5:30 all year; India does not change its clocks.
| Time zone | Difference from India | Typical overlap |
|---|---|---|
| AEST/AEDT (Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Hobart) | Sydney is 4 h 30 min ahead of India (5 h 30 min during daylight saving) | AEST (April to October): 14:30–17:30 Sydney time, India’s 10:00–13:00. AEDT (October to April): 15:30–17:30, India’s 10:00–12:00. |
| AEST all year (Brisbane, Queensland) | Brisbane is 4 h 30 min ahead of India in every month | 14:30–17:30 Brisbane time all year round, matching India’s 10:00–13:00. |
| AWST (Perth) | Perth is 2 h 30 min ahead of India all year | 12:30–17:30 Perth time, India’s 10:00–15:00, with no seasonal change. |
Common questions
What if we need help in our morning?
Our office opens at 10:00 IST, which is 14:30 or 15:30 in Sydney and 12:30 in Perth. Morning issues in eastern Australia can be logged in writing and are picked up as soon as we open. If your project needs earlier cover, it can be discussed and agreed in the proposal.
Do you work on Saturdays?
Yes. Our office hours run Monday to Saturday, 10:00–19:00 IST, which is Saturday afternoon and evening in Sydney. Weekend changes to your systems are scheduled only when you ask for them.
Can our data stay in Australia?
Yes, if that is what you want. We work inside accounts and systems you own, so data can sit in an Australian hosting region and our team reaches it remotely under your access rules.
Can you come to site for a server or network install?
No. Australian work is entirely remote. Where hardware has to be installed, a local technician does the physical work while we guide, configure and test over a remote session.
